Week Without Violence 2025
Week Without Violence is part of a global movement with YWCAs across the country and around the world to end violence against women and girls. At YWCA, we know that not all violence is acknowledged or responded to equally and that some victims go unrecognized altogether. That’s why, for more than 20 years, YWCA has set aside one week in October as a Week Without Violence.
Because of your participation and support, our 2025 initiative made an incredible impact:
-
🌟 Over 50 neighborhoods in Darien and Norwalk joined Illumination Night, lighting the town in solidarity with victims and survivors.
-
💪 Dozens of women and girls took part in our Self-Defense Training Class with Gloria Marcott and the Soul Punch team, learning practical safety skills and building confidence together.
-
💬 Parents and teens joined in a meaningful conversation about recognizing and navigating unhealthy or unsafe relationships.
-
📣 And through our social media awareness campaign, we reached and educated thousands with actionable ways to stand up, speak out, and support survivors.
None of this would have been possible without you — our members, volunteers, and community partners who showed up, shared, and shined a light throughout the week. Together, we’re not just raising awareness, we’re creating change.
Thank you for helping us make this year’s Week Without Violence one of our most impactful yet.
