Whether you've been in town for a few years or simply moved past the “new to the area” phase, Beyond Newcomers is the perfect next step for building deeper connections within your community. This club is designed for individuals and families who are ready to meet new people, expand their social circles, and get more involved. Members typically have older elementary-aged children, teens, or no children at all.

Throughout the year, Beyond Newcomers offers a range of adult-focused social events and activities, such as happy hours, book clubs, game nights, cooking workshops, fitness classes, and local outings that make it easy to stay connected and engaged.

Born out of our Newcomers Club, Playgroups was developed as a way for parents and caregivers to connect with families of similarly-aged children.  Groups explore our community’s public spaces and play areas, while providing a way for parents and children to socialize together throughout the school year.

Membership to the YWCA is required to become a member of Playgroups.

Playgroups typically run from October-June, with 2 enrollment periods during that time.

Enrollment Periods:
mid-August, 2024 - closes end of September, 2024
mid-January, 2025

How Groups Are Formed:
Groups are formed based on the childrens' age and preferred meeting times (weekday or weekend). We will gather this information during the registration process.
