About

The Youth Empowerment Committee’s (YEC), mission is to foster community growth through youth-led action while developing leadership skills through service.

Led by youth with adult oversight and mentorship, YEC partners with local organizations to host volunteer events and initiatives.  Past projects have included a backpack drive, fundraising for the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, and preparing sandwiches for Bridgeport Rescue Mission.

Open to high school and middle school students, the group meets monthly to plan and coordinate upcoming volunteer efforts that make a local impact.

How do I get involved?

The Youth Empowerment Committee meets in person from September through June every 2 weeks at 6pm. Meetings will be held at the YWCA, unless otherwise noted. To register for the committee and receive communications, sign up for the next meeting at the link below.
