Stand Against Racism 2013
For the last four years, the YWCA Darien/Norwalk has taken part in Stand Against Racism Week during the last week of April. More than 70 YWCA associations around the country take part in this important initiative each year.
The 2013 key events included: Keynote Speaker Kerry Kennedy, The YWCA Pledge Reading and The YW Race Against Racism.
Keynote speaker Kerry Kennedy, President of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, inspired a crowd of 200 at Wee Burn Country Club on April 25th. Ms. Kennedy discussed the organization's Speak Truth To Power initiative which is focused on human rights defenders around the globe.
